ABOUT LAURA My name is Laura Kopple and I am the owner/broker of Laura B. Kopple, Inc., Realtors® in Venice, Florida. I am active in the local Board of Realtors having continually served on the education committee, as a Director for 3 years, as Vice-President/Secretary , as President Elect, and as President in 2007. Currently I chair the Data Services Committee at the Venice Area Board of Realtors ® , chair the Education Committee at My Florida Regional MLS and I am a director on the board at My Florida Regional MLS. Recently I completed courses to acquire my Resort & Second-Home Property Specialist (RSPS) designation and my Senior Real Estate Specialist (SRES) designation. I also hold the GRI designation, Graduate of Realtor Institute. I was born in Pittsburgh & am the oldest of 7 children. In 1973, Mom & Dad packed up the tribe & moved us to Ft.Lauderdale. No more “snowed-in” winters for us. After meeting my husband, Bob in Miami, I went to work for his title insurance company as a bookkeeper & closing agent. When the business was sold, I expanded my knowledge of the real estate industry by working as a rental agent for a commercial real estate broker and later, a closing coordinator for a large law firm before opening our own real estate office. In the early 80’s, we relocated to Venice, Florida, and opened our office, specializing in resort & second homes. That small two-man team has grown but we have not lost our ability to provide professional, personalized service to our growing client base. In addition to my real estate career, I am active in The Plantation Community Foundation & the Gulf Coast Community Foundation as a sponsor for fund raising events that benefit local organizations. I was also able to set up an endowment fund in my husband’s memory wherein the monies go directly to the Hospice organization. At home I enjoy what I call my own “Garden of Eden”, Glenaerie, which is nestled in a forest of live oak & cabbage palms. Registered as a natural backyard wildlife habitat, I emphasize xeriscaping in the design and the utilization of native landscape plants. In 2005, I added two German shepherd puppies to my family. Being a first time parent, I had no idea how much joy they could bring. This past year I rescued Annabelle from the shelter. She's a 30 pound mutt with a lot of attitude but happy to have a permanent home of her own. May your life be filled with love & laughter, today and ever after.
