"All I can strive to be is the absolute best possible version of myself."
My name is Laura Kopple and I am the owner/broker of Laura B. Kopple, Inc., Realtors® in Venice, Florida. I am active in the Venice Area Board of Realtors having continually served on the education committee, finance committee, grievance committee, data services committee, as a Director for 3 years, as Vice-President/Secretary, as President Elect, and as President in 2007. Currently I chair the Data Services Committee, the Finance Committee and serve as the Board's Treasurer. I have also served as a Director for My Florida Regional MLS, our MLS service, and currently serve on their finance committee.
I was born in Pittsburgh & am the oldest of 7 children. In 1973, Mom & Dad packed up the tribe & moved us to Ft.Lauderdale. No more “snowed-in” winters for us.
After meeting my husband, Bob, in Miami, I went to work for his title insurance company as a bookkeeper & closing agent. When the business was sold, I expanded my knowledge of the real estate industry by working as a rental agent for a commercial real estate broker and later, a closing coordinator for a large law firm before opening our own real estate office. In the early 80’s, we relocated to Venice, Florida, and opened our office, specializing in resort & second homes. That small two-man team has grown but we have not lost our ability to provide professional, personalized service to our growing client base.
In addition to my real estate career, I am active in The Plantation Community Foundation & The Gulf Coast Community Foundation as a sponsor for fund raising events that benefit local organizations. Also, I have set up an endowment fund in my husband’s memory wherein the monies go directly to the Hospice organization. Currently I am serving as a President of the Board of the Venice Theatre.
At home I enjoy what I call my own “Garden of Eden”, Glenaerie, which is nestled in a forest of live oak & cabbage palms. Registered as a natural backyard wildlife habitat, I emphasize xeriscaping in the design and the utilization of native landscape plants. In 2005, I added two German shepherd puppies to my family. Being a first time parent, I had no idea how much joy they could bring. In 2009 I rescued Annabelle from the shelter. She's a 50 pound mutt with a lot of attitude but happy to have a permanent home of her own. My shepherds have crossed over the rainbow bridge but I have once again been blessed with a special dog, Murphy. He & Annabelle became fast friends and both enjoy the gardens.
May your life be filled with love & laughter, today and ever after.

In our quest for a place to retire, as soon as we saw what Venice had to offer, we knew we had found our new home. The familial feel of Venice and all it has to offer; the Gulf, the wonderful weather, tennis courts, as well as the abundance of activities both recreation and theater, checked off all of our wants and needs. The past four years here have been more than we could have ever hoped for!
I grew up mostly in New England; Connecticut for over twenty years and New Hampshire for over thirty years. I attended Central Connecticut State University where I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education, then continued on for my Master Degree in Reading. I then moved to New Hampshire where, through the next thirty years I taught grades one through eight. However, my love was teaching middle school literature for more than fifteen years. During my teaching career I was very involved in many aspects of education; chairing committees both at the building level and the district level, as well as attending workshops and classes to keep with current trends in teaching/education and technology.
I chose Real Estate as a new career for many reasons. I enjoy meeting and talking to people, and as a past educator helping others is important to me. Real Estate allows me to continue to grow and learn as an individual as well as to continue to challenge myself with a career very different from what I had been doing.
During my free time I enjoy playing tennis, bike riding, cooking, cooking classes, reading, walking and being outside enjoying the beautiful plants and birds of the region.
Allow me to help you find just what you are looking for. Welcome Home-

ABOUT TOM T.
I was born and raised in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. I grew up in an environment rich with family connections where the ideals of family, friends, and home were a continual part of my life. In my teens my family relocated to New England where I spent the next fifty-three years, most of which was in New Hampshire. Despite the cultural and other changes between the mid-West and New England, those same essential characteristics that were ingrained in my youth continued to flourish and became an ever-stronger influence in my life.
I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Merrimack College in North Andover, Massachusetts and supplemented that with my MBA from Babson College in Wellesley, Massachusetts then followed that up with post graduate work at Harvard University.
My working career consisted of forty years in the aerospace and defense industry, largely involved with engineering production. My wife Sue and I met in New Hampshire, were married in New Hampshire, and spent over thirty years living in New Hampshire. This past October we were blessed to celebrate the marriage of our daughter Theresa, and yes, that too was in New Hampshire.
Sue and I spent considerable time contemplating our life after retirement, and most of that soul-searching clearly focused on relocating to Florida. After a three plus year search, we finally found our new home right here in Venice. We’re now into our fourth year in our new home and really love it here. And, despite the new way of life, I feel that those very same concepts of family, friends and especially home, are more than ever the key to happiness.
In my newly established real estate career I intend to grow my existing business skills and broaden those with personalized customer service. It is my intention to bring to my clients the same sense of well-being, satisfaction and warmth that have been an important part of my life…particularly the concept of HOME !!!
And that is why I will strive, first, foremost, and always to be…Here for you…
